Maie spent years caring for others. Now we have a chance to care for her. We are raising €1000 to help Maie access facial scar treatment and support her wellbeing.

Someone who has supported others

Maie was born with a cleft palate. Her childhood involved repeated operations and long hospital stays. Alongside her health difficulties, she also endured teasing from other children. Treatment in her youth and serious complications left lasting scars on her face.

These experiences did not take away her wish to help others. She spent years caring for patients at Põltsamaa hospital. Later, she cared for her bedridden mother for ten years, providing support every day.

Maie’s own health has also required considerable care. Operations on her feet were followed by a long and difficult recovery that kept her away from work. Despite these challenges, she has retained her kindness, positive outlook and joy in life.

What will donations support?

This project aims to raise €1000 to support Maie’s facial scar treatment. We want to give her an opportunity to care for herself and take the next step towards feeling better.

The purpose of treatment is to support Maie’s wellbeing. Her treating doctor will assess suitable treatment options and possible outcomes based on her needs.

In the future, we also hope to help with Maie’s treatment needs for her feet. The current €1000 goal is for scar treatment; treatment for her feet is outside this budget.
